Kriya Yoga Theory 1 "Human Development and the Eight Essential Stages" The 6th Stage DHARANA – CONCENTRATION Dharana is a series of breathing techniques and exercises, including mantra (sound), yantra (sight), tantra (taste and touch), designed to develop endurance through conscious effort. Purpose: Dharana is the ability to block out unrelated matter and focus on the task at hand. Concentration develops one’s will power to extend the attention span. It is the constant practice of non-attachment and the constant restraint of the thought process–this work is strenuous and effortful. The Process!
