Powhow is a website for live how-to classes using your webcam. The vision of the company is to enable anybody to teach and share their passions with anyone around the world. The company was founded by a close group of friends and family who believe that they are building a community and product that will transform the "how" of what we learn!

Meet Our Team
Viva Chu
Iron Chef and Mad Baller
Viva is the co-founder and CEO of Powhow. Viva is a successful tech entrepreneur whose previous companies include Handipoints, a virtual world for kids that was acquired by Slide and is now part of Google, and Transplay, an early pioneer of in-game advertising, acquired by Massive Incorporated, a subsidiary of Microsoft. More than five years before the very first Facebook games, Viva invented and patented a system for in-game ad placements and virtual commerce. Viva has a Computer Science degree from Duke University and loves to play and watch basketball especially when it involves beating UNC. He can't wait to learn how to roll his own sushi and build model bridges on Powhow!
Agatha Chang
Foodie
Agatha Chang is the co-founder of Powhow. She was previously VP, Digital Group Strategy Director at Universal McCann overseeing media planning and buying for MasterCard US, managing an annual budget of over $30MM. Prior to MasterCard she oversaw media strategy for McNeil Pharmaceuticals and Johnson and Johnson Beauty Brands including, Aveeno, Neutrogena, Splenda, and Johnson & Johnson Baby products. Agatha is a graduate of UC Berkeley and will deny she used to wear Birkenstocks. She's especially looking forward to taking cooking and art classes.
Ben Jurist
Lead Guitarist
Ben is the Director of Community of Powhow. Ben is a marketing strategist, having spent the past 7 years at top digital advertising agencies in NYC, including Mindshare and Universal McCann. There, he helped numerous Fortune 500 companies build and grow their online e-com, social, and brand experiences. Ben studied psychology, marketing, and communications at Cornell University. He is an active musician and will not get paid until he personally convinces Keith Richards to teach a class.
Victor Chu
The Cool One
Victor is responsible for Powhow's user interface and product design. As an instructor, Victor is a design educator and has taught at Parsons The New School for Design and served as a design panelist at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. Victor is also a high heel walk instructor for LEGWORK and has taught ladies in New York, Paris and Milan the secret to sexy high heel walking. Previous to Powhow, Victor was a social app, user interface designer at Google. Prior to Google, Victor was a product manager at Slide where he managed the user experience design and virtual goods of Slide's virtual world product Social Star. Victor's technology startup experience includes the management and development of semantic web products at Inform, data privacy products at Root Markets, flexible display applications for Dow Chemicals, credit card products for American Express and the first wireless content device called Modo at Scout Electromedia. At Scout, Victor was the design director working with IDEO's industrial designers and engineers on the product design for Modo. Victor received his B.A. in Product Design from the College of Design at North Carolina State University.
